Earthquake hits amidst funding crisis

Before this disaster, UNHCR had just 16 per cent of the funding needed for its life-saving work in Myanmar. The needs are only going to grow. Please help now.

Thousands of people have been killed and injured in the Myanmar earthquakes.

The central and north-west regions are home to the highest number of displaced people in the country – 1.6 million out of a total 3.5 million.

Since the military takeover in February 2021, families have been plunged into a deepening humanitarian catastrophe, with some forced to flee again and again.

The people of Myanmar continue to face many threats, including poverty, violations of their basic human rights and ongoing conflict.

This earthquake will only exacerbate their suffering.

Please, don't let them suffer alone. Donate now to deliver life-saving aid.

With your generous gift, UNHCR can provide shelter and emergency supplies such as blankets and sleeping mats. Your donation can also protect women and children, who are especially vulnerable in times of crisis.
