Meet the speakers

Dr Jasmina Kevric

Dr Kevric is the winner of this year’s Les Murray Award for Refugee Recognition award. Dr Kevric’s family fled war in the former Yugoslavia when she was just a girl. Today, she is a breast cancer surgeon based in Melbourne.

Durkhanai Ayubi

Durkhanai Ayubi is an Afghan-Australian writer, based in Adelaide. Her latest book “She Who Tastes, Knows” is a memoir of food, exile and awakening.

NOURI

There will be a wonderful performance by NOURI, a Kurdish-Kiwi singer-songwriter. NOURI spent the early years of her life in a Syrian refugee camp and is now a highly successful artist.
