What you need to know about the Connecting Worlds app

Leading Women Fund donor Nicola Conville on how it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Next month, we are launching the opportunity for Leading Women Fund donors to join the Connecting Worlds app. This innovative platform connects our Australian donors with Syrian refugee women in Jordan, enabling them to share messages and photos, and learn a little about each other’s lives.

For donor Nicola Conville, her conversations with Hanam, a Syrian single mother of five, were a profoundly moving experience.

“She was trying very hard to be strong for her children and to keep going, but I got the impression she was isolated and quite lonely,” says Nicola, who messaged Hanam over eight weeks last year. “It was great to be able to offer a bit of a listening ear and support her.

In this short video, Nicola discusses her experience with the app, including the support available for donors and the moments she’ll never forget.
